Macos El Capitan Usb Installer

This answer assumes you want the El Capitan USB installer to install El Capitan on an older Mac capable of running Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6). In this case, you can solve the problem by using the older Mac to create the El Capitan USB installer.

If you use pkgutil to expand the InstallMacOSX.pkg it opens to three items, the Distribution file, InstallMacOSX.pkg and Resources. You can alter the Distribution file to ignore the supported platform check, see below.

  1. Right Click on your USB drive option in TransMac and select Format Disk for Mac. After that, right-click the USB Drive and select Restore with Disk Image. Point to your Mac OS.dmg or.iso file by clicking the add button. After that TransMac will create bootable Mac OS USB within few minutes.
  2. Question: Q: Failed attempt to install El Capitan, now cannot restart in previous version. I tried to upgrade to El Capitan from OS X 10.6.8, which I realise is not possible. On restart, Mac keeps trying to install it and now I can't get back into my Mac at all.
  3. To create bootable USB installer for Mac to Install Mac OS X El Capitan on Windows, on Mac or VirtualBox, you have to create bootable USB flash drive. Let’s get started on how to do it. First, you have to download TransMac software for Windows and install it on your computer.
